End of Life Doula Support (New)

"Every journey ends; it's how you get there that matters."

We often live as if the end of our journey will never arrive, yet this inevitability awaits us all. For some, it happens suddenly, leaving loved ones to grapple with pain and sorrow. For others, their longevity or health issues indicate that the end is near. How does one face this reality? How do those who care about us handle it?

This is where the "End of Life" Doula service proves invaluable. With our expertise and experience, we guide you and your loved ones through a process to determine how you want the final chapter of your life to unfold and what significance you wish to imbue it with. Many people do not have the opportunity to thoughtfully prepare for this stage, and a Doula can help you create something meaningful for both yourself and your loved ones, leaving a special, lasting memory.

What we offer

There are many ways to approach end of life support and can include:

Care Planning

We create a comprehensive plan for current and future care up to the end of life, assisting with all essential documents to ensure their physical care and health directives are respected. We also facilitate family meetings regarding end-of-life wishes, encouraging questions and educating loved ones on the decisions.

End of Life Plan

Working with you, we organise how this process should unfold, determining who should be present, where it will happen, and how it will proceed..

Vigil

When the time comes, I will be there to offer support, explain the physical death process to alleviate stress for family and friends, and ensure my client's wishes are upheld at every moment.

Certified End of Life Doula

Growing up in a large family, I often cared for loved ones nearing the end of their lives. Providing support to both the dying and their families gave me a sense of purpose and underscored the importance of this process. In a society that often overlooks this crucial stage, an end-of-life doula makes perfect sense to help families plan and find meaning in it.

I received my certification through the International End of Life Doula Association or INELDA for short. This is a rigorous course that covered all of the crucial components required to equip people to provide this profoundly personal and intimate support during the process of preparing to die.
